What Is A Real Estate Agent?
Basically, a real estate agent is a person who has been licensed by New York State to assist people
who are selling or buying real property (land and the improvements attached to the land).
In general:
- For a seller, the agent represents the seller and assists him or her in locating a buyer for the property.
- For a buyer, the agent represents the buyer and assists him or her in locating and purchasing a property.
What Is A Realtor ® ?
A realtor ® is a real estate agent who, in addition to being licensed, is a member of the National Association Of Realtors ® (NAR) and its affiliated state and local organizations. Being a realtor ® offers many advantages to a real estate agent. All agents of Seven Valley Realty, Inc. are required to be realtors ® . What Are An Agent's Responsibilities?
All agents of Seven Valley Realty, Inc. are independent contractors who work strictly on a commission basis. While agents are provided with guidance, each is primarily responsible for his or her own success. At the same time an agent must be a professional who upholds the high standards set by New York State and the NAR. Hence, a successful agent must be both a "self starter" who is willing to take the initiative and a person of integrity who is willing to place his or her obligations to a client above the desire for personal gain.
